Snowbird Management is an offshoot of Green Ocean Property Management, the team that has managed 500+ rental properties across Greater Boston for over 40 years. We didn’t start from scratch — we built this service on top of an established operation with the systems, vendor network, and 24/7 emergency response already in place.
Our founder, Jarrett Lau, is a licensed General Contractor and Home Inspector. When something’s wrong with your property, he and his team don’t just call someone — they know exactly what’s happening, what it costs, and who to bring in to fix it.
How Snowbird Management started
A few years ago, one of our property owners called Jarrett from his vacation home in Florida. His alarm was going off back in Boston, and he had no one to check on it. Jarrett drove over personally — no charge. The house was fine.
The client asked Jarrett to keep watching the home year-round. Word spread. Today, Snowbird Management is a dedicated service for Greater Boston homeowners who spend part of the year somewhere warmer — and want to come home to a house in better shape than they left it.

While other home-watch services charge per visit and bill extras for every phone call, our monthly fee includes the full Green Ocean operation behind you.
24/7 Emergency Response
Floods, fires, no-heat calls, break-ins. We're on-site fast — usually within the hour — and we manage the resolution from start to finish. You get a phone call and photos. Not a panic.
Maintenance Coordination
We schedule, supervise, and verify every service your home needs while you're away — landscaping, snow removal, HVAC, gutters, pest control, deliveries, handyman work. We deal with the vendors. You don't.
Active Property Oversight
Interior and exterior walkthroughs with full photo reports. Remote monitoring of thermostats, cameras, and alarms. Mail collection. Pre-arrival cleaning and fridge stocking so your home is ready the day you fly back.

Vendor and contractor costs (e.g., plumbers, landscapers) are billed separately and only after you authorize them.
Additional on-site visits beyond your tier's included inspections are $125/hr.
For context: A single burst pipe can cost $5,000–$15,000 to repair. A roof leak caught late can run $20,000+. One season of Snowbird Management costs roughly the same as one undetected problem.
